Run by a volunteer committee, we aim to provide competitors with the best eventing experience possible, with all proceeds being invested back into our courses, and any surplus being donated to charity.
The venue is generously provided by the Warde-Aldam family, who are members of the organising committee. Dressage and show jumping take place in the arenas in front of Frickley Hall.
Our XC courses are renowned for providing competitors with a true riding experience, being of full length and always presented to the highest standards.
Frickley Horse Trials is a stunning parkland event held on old turf, with three large grass arenas and cross-country tracks that take in varied terrain, including two impressive water complexes.
This entirely private venue opens exclusively for British Eventing, hosting competition from grassroots level right through to international classes. Among the highlights is the UVEX Frickley Cup – our popular long-format three-day event for all BE80, BE90 and BE100 riders.
Following two highly successful pilot years, the UVEX Frickley Cup returns in 2026 for its third and biggest year yet, with not three but six classes! We are thrilled to now offer RCNQ competitors the choice of a three-day RCNQ class or the standard one-day class that has been a popular fixture for several years.
This is something competitors have been asking for over the last two seasons and we are delighted to be able to offer a format that helps bridge that gap. Please note, however, that Frickley is not a direct qualifier for the championship finals. Riders must hold an RCNQ ticket to be eligible for the RCNQ classes, while the standard Frickley Cup Three-Day Event classes are open to all BE members.
