National U18 Championships

Frickley Park (1) will be hosting the National U18 Championships, with the competition running across four days

New for 2017, the range of competitors for the CCI* has expanded.  Any rider again 21 or under on the 1st January 2017 can enter our International Section.  Competitors DO NOT have to be selected for any U18 teams.  Therefore U18 team riders can enter second/third horses, and reserve riders can also enter.  Everyone is welcome

Refund Policy - 100% Refund for withdrawals before ballot date. Minimum of 50% refund to withdrawals between ballot and withdrawal date, unless replaced (as per Rule 4.11). No refund after withdrawal date. To be eligible for a refund as above all withdrawals must be lodged with the Entries Secretary before close of withdrawal and written confirmation (By email or letter to be received prior to the start of the event)

STARTING TIMES for BE100 U18 Championship dressage are available between 26/07/2016 on 01949 729022, with times also available on www.bdwp.co.uk.  CCI* start times will be available after trot up on Thursday AM



Wednesday - Stables open at Noon.  All competitors and horses must arrive on site by 5PM (26/7/17) for the Rider Briefing at 6PM in the main marquee.  After the Briefing, Nicola Wilson will be providing a Jumping Masterclass in the National Arena

Thursday - Trot up for CCIJ* will take place on Thursday AM, with dressage for all three classes on Thursday in the Clipper Logistics International Arena.  A Dressage Masterclass demonstration will take early evening, after the Competitor Cocktail Party

Friday - Dressage for all three classes in the Clipper Logistics International Arena

Saturday - Cross Country for all three classes

Sunday - Trot up for CCI* followed by showjumping in the Clipper Logistics International Arena for all three classes.  Mounted prize givings 


All horses must stable on site.  Make bookings on the BDWP website.  Stabling will be £140 per horse, to include two bales of shavings (extra available for purchase at £7 per bale).  Haylage also available for purchase at £8 per bale.  Electric hook-ups available at a cost of £90.  All prices include VAT.  100% refund available prior to Ballot Date.  From Ballot Date until 14/7/16, no refund unless replaced.  After 14/7/16, no refund.  Horses not competing as part of the U18 Championship classes or the International Section CCI* section, but wishing to take part in the National Classes and/or the BS Senior running on the Saturday, are very welcome 

In addition to paying for stabling at BDWP, all competitors MUST complete and return a STABLING BOOKING FORM


Burrough Hill Restaurant

Dining is available in our on-site restaurant on Wednesday to Saturday evening, and Saturday lunch time, overlooking Frickley Hall.  A range of menus are available.  A full at seat bar service is provided.  Tables of 2 or more available.


Booking is essential as follows:

1.  Please go to the 'Buy Tickets' section of this website (accessed from the Home page or HERE), to make bookings and payment.

2.  In respect of dinner bookings only, please then make starter and main course selections for each guest HERE.  Menu selection is required for 2017, as it is the only means of keeping the price of the restaurant sustainable (please understand that we operate in the middle of parkland, so the cost of setting up a restaurant and working kitchen is considerable!)

Competitors' Cocktail Party

By kind invitation of the Warde-Aldam family, competitors and up to two guests are invited to a complementary Cocktail Party to be held on Thursday 28th July at 6.00pm.  Tickets allocated on arrival, with further tickets available at £10 from the Administrator

Masterclass Demonstration

On Wednesday evening Nicola Wilson will be providing a jumping masterclass in the National Arena.  There will also be a dressage masterclass on Thursday evening following the Cocktail Party - guests and spectators are all welcome

Evening entertainment

On every day of the Championships the Burrough Hill Bar will be open noon till late offering a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, with a Disco and Show on Friday and Saturday night in the main marquee


Prize funds as follows (including both cash and training vouchers), plus generous prizes in kind:

CCI* U18 Section: £3,000 (1st £500)

CCI* International Section: £1,500 (1st £400)

National Saddle Centre BE100 U18 Championships: £2,800 (1st Individual £350, 1st Team £600)


Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they are kept on a short lead at all times - £30 fine to charity for all loose dogs.  Please also pick up their mess.  All litter must be placed in the bins provided.  We are guests of the Frickley Estate so please respect the landowner at all times
